1. The type of information we collect
DG Walkies (‘We’) currently collect and process the following information, from the following sources:
1.1 Website cookies: Our website https://dgwalkies.co.ukuses cookies to provide us with statistical data by tracking visits to and clicks on our website sections and pages. When you visit the site, you will be asked to choose whether to Accept or Decline tracking cookies before proceeding. Clicking on links to our social media accounts requires you to accept the terms of those sites. We accept no responsibility for the content and terms of third party sites linked to our site.
1.2 Personal information and identifiers: we capture and process your Name, Contact Details (including email, phone, address), your Pet’s Details plus Emergency Contact, Veterinary Details and Insurance Company. We may also require a Key and/or Code to access your home and collect or sit with your pet.
2. How we get the personal information and why we have it
Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:
2.1 Enquiries: we require information about you and your pet to provide you with tailored information about our services; to set up a Meet and Greet and/or to enter into a service contract.
2.2 We capture your Name and Email Address when you make an enquiry via the Contact Me form on our website. This website function is provided by a third party and is subject to the terms and privacy policy listed.
2.3 When you contact us via phone call, WhatsApp or email, you directly disclose your Contact Details, unless you choose to withhold them. We will not respond to anonymous enquiries, so at least one contact detail is required.
2.4 Service contracts: to enable us to safely provide insured dog walking and/or pet sitting services in your home and/or to care for your pet in an emergency, we require additional information. You will be asked to provide this information directly to us via a form - on paper or electronically.
We also receive personal information indirectly, from the following sources:
2.5 Social Media platforms: we are present on various social media platforms which enable you to find and make contact with us. When you contact us via a social media platform, the information we can access or capture will depend on the Privacy Settings you have set for your Profile/Account.
2.6 Rover.com app/website: when you make an enquiry or book one of our services via Rover.com your personal information and identifiers will be according to your Profile settings. Both parties agree to the Rover.com termsand privacy policy.
2.7 We do not pass on your personal or identifying information to third parties, except in an emergency while your pet is in our care and we need to contact a vet.
2.8 Under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR), the lawful basis we rely on for processing this information is a Legitimate Interest.
3. How we store your personal information
Your information is securely stored.
3.1 We keep electronic copies of enquiries on password/PIN protected devices for as long as necessary to provide you with information about our services, to arrange a Meet and Greet and to set up a service contract.
3.2 We keep paper copies of contracts whilst we are carrying out services with you. We also scan and store the information electronically on password/PIN protected devices. We shred hard copies once the contract has been terminated. We keep details of financial transactions for at least six years for tax and accounting purposes.
3.3 Any Keys given to us as part of a contract are stored in a secure, locked location when they are not on the person collecting the pet or performing dog walking or house sitting services. No address details are kept on the fobs. Security codes are kept electronically on PIN protected devices. Keys are returned and codes deleted immediately after the service contract terminates.
4. Your data protection rights
Under UK data protection law, you have rights including:
· Your right of access - You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.
· Your right to rectification - You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.
· Your right to erasure - You have the right to ask us to erase your personal information in certain circumstances.
· Your right to restriction of processing - You have the right to ask us to restrict the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
· Your right to object to processing - You have the the right to object to the processing of your personal information in certain circumstances.
· Your right to data portability - You have the right to ask that we transfer the personal information you gave us to another organisation, or to you, in certain circumstances.
You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you. Please contact us at dgwalkies@gmail.com if you wish to make a request.
